Emergency Egress Hatch - Acudor
The EEH is an emergency egress door suitable for metro systems everywhere. It provides an exit to the street level for crews and passengers during an emergency. This specialized floor access door can take on weight so people can safely walk on it. It's also an excellent choice when connecting two floors in a building.
Benefits of Installing EEH:
- Reinforced to take on live load
- Provides an escape route for emergencies
- Constructed from durable and robust materials making it long-lasting
The EEH's primary material is 316 stainless steel. Its door has a 1/4" reinforced diamond plate panel with flush steel lifting handles that can handle 300 pounds/sq ft. live loads of people and light vehicles. It has hold-open arms covers with a red vinyl grip to hold them in the 90 degrees open position.
The 3/8" aluminum frame has a channel that drains rainwater through a 1-1/2" pipe coupling. It has anchors welded around the edge for casting into concrete. It also has a tamper-resistant fastener that makes removing it nearly impossible without using special tools.
It has stainless steel compression springs enclosed in telescoping tubes with its lower tube interlocking with the spring support bracket welded to the door frame. It also has a two-point interior push bar latch and exterior plug for the fire department spanner.
Its safety features include an aluminum handrail tubing welded to each cover. It also has signage that says "Push Bar" and "Keep Clear" that provide a general direction for people to follow. Lastly, the EEH has a mill finish for its frame and cover.
